Spa/Birthday Day!!!

Today was the day I got the present I bought for myself.

7:40: Got up, gym clothes on. Bad choice: ate a BIG breakfast, almond butter, raisins, and honey, AND frosted wheat and chocolate almond milk.

8:15 left the house, hit every red light across town

8:40am Personal Training: Started warming up on this stair stepper cross with an elliptical! You can change the stride length so it works your hammies more. Then we did a lot of pylometrics. where I squat then raise a weight etc using multiple muscle groups.

9:15 Had to go to the bathroom because I thought I was going to throw up or pass out. Never worked out that hard before. Nothing was too hard but my heart rate was up and that rock of breakfast kicked in.

9:23 Did crunches on the ball. Then Josh said we could set up another session, because ours got cut short a bit and it's hard for a trainer to really train a person in only one one hr session. Woot!

10am -ish: Massage, AWESOME! Then I had an arnica wrap. Arnica is an herb that reduces inflamation. My aunt said it's like natural ibuprofen. So I was in a towel, then sheets soaked in hot arnica and herb tea thing, then a wrapped in a heat blanket, then another sheet, then a blanket. What's that sound like to you? After I got out, the lady asked me and I said I felt like burrito. SHE said "Not like a butterfly coming out of cocoon?" Oh well.

12-ish: Facial, I'd never had one before so it was interesting, and my skin felt SOOO smooth.

THEN I was supposed to get my nails and toes done but the lady was sick. I got a gift certificate to use before my friends wedding, which will be perfect. Then for my "inconvenience" they included a gift certificate for a massage!

So I'm going to set up for a massage, mani and pedi, and a personal training session! Like the birthday gift that keeps giving.

I'm sure I'll be hurting in the morning, but today was AWESOME!

  3. Good for you. I'm giving myself a spa day when I reach the 100 lbs gone mark. I'm going to remember that massage and see if I can get one.

  4. "Exercise 'til you throw-up or pass-out (or both)"....sounds like it could be the title of a new extreme, nazi fitness plan. lol.

Sounds like that place really knows how to give great customer service too with all the freebies.

    Happy birthday.
