Magazine Monday

  • People who focused on how exercise makes them happy instead of healthy, worked out more. Be happy on that treadmill!
  • Raspberries have 8g of fiber for every 1 cup.
  • Use hosta leaves as coasters. [not fitness related but it looks so cool]
  • Dieter who spend 20mins before each meal picturing their dream bodies were twice as likely to reach their goals. UMMMMM yeah I’m sure an HOUR a day at least would help me focus on my goals too, but I have things to do
  • Vegangelical – Someone who constantly tries to convert people to being vegan HAHAHAHA
  • Here’s a great way to figure out your intensity with the Pledge of Allegiance
    • Low- Say pledge normally,
    • Moderate – have to take a breath every 4-6 words.
    • High – only say a word or two between breaths
  • People who watch about 1/2 the amount TV burn about 120 more calories. So if I watch 4 hrs of TV, then cut back to 2, I won’t spend the other 2 hrs sitting on the couch staring at nothing? Why is this study still being done?
  • 7 steps to success by Jillian Michaels: Define goal, Believe in yourself, Stay positive, Imaging goal, Educate yourself, Don’t fear failure, Get feedback.
  • A few mags had this fact too: Boys act riskier around pretty girls! Yeah I totally could have told you that in 2nd grade and given you examples once a month until today!!!

  1. Huh - Dieter who spend 20mins before each meal picturing their dream bodies were twice as likely to reach their goals. Can you imagine some where someone actually conducting a study group to prove this theory? I can't. May Jillian Michaels can :-)
